Afghanistan Cricket Board on March 5th, sacked Asghar Afghan, former Afghan national team captain, after four years, and instead appointed new players for the three formats of cricket.

The Afghan Cricket Board has selected GulbadinNaib for ODI, and chose Rashid Khan and Rahmat Shah Zurmati for Test matches and 20 overs format of Cricket.

GulbadinNaib said in an interview, “I am happy that I am appointed as the captain for the Afghan National Team. My goal will be to gather the team to a further united level and I want to get forward with the experience of the front players.” (I will try to reunite the National The team to the World Cup, that even all international sides express their impression from the Afghan side)

GulbadinNaib has been playing with the Afghan National team for Twelve Years and he said that after his selection for the captaincy, he presented several conditions to the ACB that were accepted by the management.

These conditions included the determination of the positions of each player, and with him being glad o having experienced players such as Asghar Afghan, the former captain, Rashid Khan, and Mohammad Nabi, there will be no opportunity for him being emotional while decision making. His teammates already surprised the world.

In the meantime, the Afghan National Team with their new captain, will head to South Africa for training camp of one month, consisting of six practice matches, and from there, a selection of 15 or 16 players will be done for the world cup and the team will join the other countries in England, for the worldcup.
