President Ghani spoke with US President Donald Trump yesterday evening on a phone line.
Trump thanked the president of Afghanistan for the release of two lecturers of the American University of Afghanistan:
The two sides praised the progress of the Afghan security and defense forces in defeating the ISIS terrorist group, especially in Nangarhar province.
President Ghani informed the United States President about the Afghan government’s seven-article peace plan, in which Trump emphasized the ultimate ceasefire as the basic condition for peace, saying: The peace process must succeed, in which the management and involvement of the Afghan government is final and must begin from now on.
The call ended with President Trump calling on President Ghani for an official visit to the United States that was accepted by the President of Afghanistan.
